As we continue to close in on the start of football camp, the preseason honors keep coming in for the Badgers. Lindy’s College Football Preview has the Badgers ranked as the No. 11 team entering the 2008 season and has Bukcy predicted to finish second in the Big Ten behind Ohio State.
Lindy’s has listed Travis Beckum as the No. 1 tight end in the nation and placed him on the first-team All-American list. Beckum is also listed on Lindy’s first-team All-Big Ten team alongside Jonathan Casillas, P.J. Hill and Kraig Urbik. Gabe Carimi, David Gilreath and Matt Shaughnessy were all named to the Big Ten’s second-team.
Lindy’s also ranks each position on the field and four Badgers were listed in the top-12 at their respective spots. Beckum was the top-ranked tight end, Urbik was listed as the sixth-best guard, Hill was the No. 8 running back, Casillas was listed as the No. 12 linebacker and the Badgers’ offensive line is picked as the seventh-best in the country.
In another preseason ranking, Blue Ribbon College Football Yearbook released its preseason All-Big Ten teams. Beckum and Urbik were both listed on the first-team, while Casillas and DB Shane Carter were listed on the conference’s second-team.
