Wisconsin's Scott Tolzien has taken home the 2010 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award as the national's top senior quarterback.
Tolzien, a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete, guided the Badgers to an 11-1 record and a trip to the Rose Bowl as Big Ten champions this season.
He finished the regular season slate first in the nation in completion percentage (74.3 percent) and fourth in efficiency rating (169.8), compiling 2,300 yards with 16 touchdowns and just six interceptions.
"Scott Tolzien personifies everything that my father stood for," said John C. Unitas, Jr., president of The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation. "He is not simply an outstanding quarterback, but an outstanding individual who is a leader both on and off the field, tirelessly devoting himself to his team, to his community, and to being a mentor for others."
Other finalists for the award were Andy Dalton of TCU, Colin Kaepernick of Nevada, Christian Ponder of Florida State and Ricky Stanzi of Iowa.
The award has been handed out since 1987 and is based upon on-field performance as well as character.
Colt McCoy of Texas was last year's winner.
